Golf Tournament: First NASBR Bat Biologists Open
What better way than to spend 4 hours or so with other colleagues talking science while maiming annelids and the occasional bird? There is no prerequisite for any skill at the game to participate, only a willingness to have fun and the promise to not throw clubs. We also promise that there will be hoots of derision for the person who actually wins. A prize will be given to the golfer with the median score. Interested golfers are welcome to enter individually or as groups. Anticipated costs include a 25$ entry fee plus any cost of transportation (leaving individuals responsible for their own green fees, clubs, and if they wish, a cart). The entry fee will go directly to the Spallanzani award. We will limit the number to 32 players (8 groups of 4) so that we are sure to get done reasonably quickly. We expect a starting time of 10 a.m. to allow plenty of time to take in the opening social event that evening. To ensure that we can book time at the course, we need a pretty firm idea of numbers by 15 September. If anyone has any questions, comments or suggestions, or to enroll in this event, please contact Mark Brigham (Mark.Brigham [at] uregina [dot] ca). |
