The 54th Annual North American Symposium for Bat Research will be held in Fort Collins, Colorado, from 14-17 October 2026, at the Hilton Fort Collins. This venue is just across the street from Colorado State University and a short, free bus ride from beautiful downtown Fort Collins. Fort Collins is situated along the Cache la Poudre River, a national heritage area, and in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Fort Collins is known for its lively cultural scene, including thriving craft breweries, bicycle friendly design, and easy access to a wealth of natural areas, from Rocky Mountain National Park to the Pawnee National Grasslands.

The meeting will open with a Welcome Reception at Colorado State University’s new Canvas Stadium overlooking the main campus of Colorado State University. We have a range of events planned including a Spallanzani Fundraiser 5K run, student mixer, LGBTQ+ Community Social, Diversity Breakfast, Lunch with a Mentor, dessert banquet, and more! 

The meeting will begin on Thursday, October 15th with a keynote address from Dr. Nancy Simmons, Curator of Mammalogy at the American Museum of Natural History. 

Our logo artist is Quinn Burrell,  a science-minded artist and animator. She uses color and soft textures to make beautiful work that nurtures scientific curiosity. She specializes inscientific and medical illustration and hand-drawn animation. As a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Quinn is always exploring new ways to communicate through art.
