The Venue - The Fort Garry Hotel, Spa, and Conference Center The 51st North American Symposium for Bat Research will be held at the Fort Garry Hotel, Spa, and Conference Center. This beautiful, historic venue is located in the heart of eclectic Downtown Winnipeg, within easy walking distance of a wide variety of restaurants and attractions. In 2016, Winnipeg was named one of the best places on earth to visit according to National Geographic Travel. Within walking distance of the hotel, visitors have access to the Exchange District, which is a National Historic site, as well as beautiful trails along the Assiniboine and Red Rivers, the Canadian Museum of Human Rights (location for NASBR’s Welcome Reception), and the Forks Market. The Fort Garry Hotel, Spa, and Conference Center is a stunning example of the chateau architecture found in the railway hotels built across Canada before 1930. Its rooms have regal high ceilings as well as top of the line mattresses, premium bed linens, down duvets, and feather pillows. L’Occitane bath amenities, plush towels, and robes accent the bathrooms. Free WiFi and Nespresso coffee are included with your stay, adding a layer of residential comfort to the guest experience.
